我和双胞胎哥哥的甜蜜记忆：从夹心饼干到彼此的年下
记得小时候，家里总会有各种各样的零食。尤其是每年的年底，母亲总是会做一大批夹心饼干给我们吃。那时候，我和我的双胞胎哥哥对这些饼干简直神魂颠倒，每次看到那层层叠叠的奶油和黄油，就忍不住想把它们都吃掉。
但有一次，我看到了一个特别有趣的事情。当时，我们正在帮妈妈准备新春礼物，而她却让我们做了一些特别的小蛋糕作为表达我们的祝福。那些小蛋糕外面包着薄薄的一层糖皮，一前一后地摆在了桌上。我看着那些漂亮的蛋糕，不禁想起了过去那个打卡点，那个时候我们还在学校，每天放学后的第一件事情就是跑去超市买夹心饼干来分赃。
我转身问mom, "Mom, do you remember the time when we used to fight over the last piece of cream-filled sandwich cookie during our after-school routine?" Mom smiled and said, "Of course I do. It's one of my favorite memories with you two."
I looked at my brother and we both burst into laughter. Those were the days! We would rush home from school, grab a handful of cookies from the jar on the kitchen counter, and devour them in seconds. The sweet taste of victory was always worth fighting for - especially when it came to getting that last cookie.
But as much as we loved those cookies, there was something special about making our own treats this year. Maybe it was because we were older now and could appreciate the effort that went into creating something delicious. Or maybe it was because we knew how much joy it brought us to share these little creations with each other.
Whatever the reason may be, I'm glad that mom suggested we make these small cakes as gifts for our family members this year. As I watched her carefully layering buttercream frosting between two pieces of cake, I couldn't help but think back to those days when my brother and I fought over every last morsel of cream-filled goodness.
It's funny how life comes full circle sometimes isn't it? From fighting over cookies in childhood to working together on a project in adulthood - everything is just so beautifully connected.
As New Year approaches once again (and with all its associated traditions), I find myself reflecting on what truly matters most in life: love for family and friends; shared experiences; memories created together; even if they are just simple moments like fighting over a cookie or making small cakes together.
And so here's wishing everyone a wonderful new year filled with love & happiness! May your year be filled with lots of laughter & sharing...just like mine has been!
